The Yamaha R15 v3 is one of the best looking bikes from Yamaha in the 155-cc segment and also happens to be the most powerful of the lot. The bike has been an emotion among the youngsters because it is one of the tops liked bikes from the very beginning till now. But now because of the BS-VI norms, like other bike manufacturers in the country, Yamaha has also launched the BS-VI variant of Yamaha R15 v3 recently. Yamaha has updated its small capacity supersport, the R15 v3, to the latest BS-VI emission norms. 

The Yamaha R15 v3 BS-VI variant has been launched in India at Rs 1,45,300(ex-showroom) for the Thunder Grey color, Rs 1,45,900(ex-showroom) for the Racing Blue color, and Rs 1,47,300(ex-showroom) for the Matte finish Dark Knight color. The updated R15 v3 BS-VI motorcycles are price only 4k than the BS-IV variants. This bike weighs about 142 kilograms. The R15 V3 gained almost 15mm in seat height as per the specifications shared by Yamaha. So, the seat height now stands at 815mm. And today we will be telling you whether you should spend your money on this bike or not. Yamaha R15 v3 Mileage:

Let’s talk about the mileage, the fuel capacity of Yamaha R15 v3 is 11 litres. As reported by Yamaha R15 v35 owners is powered by 155-cc engine which generates a power of 19.3 ps @ 10000 rpm and claims a mileage of around 40-45 kmpl.

Yamaha R15 v3 Specifications and Features.

1.Engine

The Yamaha R15 v3 has the same engine as the MT 15 but there is a little difference in terms of power and torque where R15 v3 generates 18.6 bhp of power @ 10000 rpm and 14.1 nm of torque @ 8500 rpm from its 155cc engine liquid-cooled SOHC engine. The R15 v3 engine also gets the Yamaha’s VVA(Variable Valve Actuation) technology. The single-cylinder engine of R15 v3 has a 6-speed manual gearbox via an assist and slipper clutch.

2.Assist & Slipper Clutch

An A&S (assist and slipper) clutch is adopted to reduce the weight of the clutch pull and provide low-stress shifting during deceleration. The A&S helps to reduce fatigue for the rider. This also prevents excessive engine braking, thus reducing its effects on chassis behavior. The A&S clutch makes for smooth, enjoyable downshifts.

3.Tyres

The top variant of Yamaha R15 v3 also has 220mm rear and 282mm front disk brakes with an anti-locking braking system, i.e Dual-channel ABS, in both front and rear disc. The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) in both front and rear disc helps in achieving improved braking performance by providing better stability and control at all speeds without any wheel lockups and skidding even in slippery conditions.

The tyre of Yamaha MT 15 BS-VI is 100/80-17mm on the front side and 140/70-17mm super wide Radial Tyre on the rear side.

4.Delta-Box Frame

Yamaha R15 v3 gets a Deltabox frame. The suspension duties are performed by telescopic forks at the front and a swingarm (link suspension) at the rear.

5.Side-Stand Enginecut-off switch

Like the MT 15, the Yamaha R15 v3 also gets the side-stand engine cut-off switch which the rider can be assured to be safe in those immediate bike rides. The side-stand cut-off system switches off the engine when the side stand is on. Though this is not completely new to the Indian market, Yamaha plans to make this feature mandatory in all its two-wheelers. While some Indian OEMs have an indicator for the side-stand, KTM, Hero MotoCorp, TVS Motor Co, and Honda have implemented such a kill switch in some of their products.

6.Multi-function Negative LCD Instrument Cluster

The instrument cluster of Yamaha MT 15 is a multi-function negative LCD screen which is also very bright at bright sunlight. It has the speedometer, fuel meter, VVA( Variable Valve Actuation) indicator, Tachometer, Transmission Gear Display, and Multifunction display.

7.Aerodynamic LED Tail And Headlight

The rear design of Yamaha R15 is taken from the mighty R1 which is a 998-cc sports bike from Yamaha. The Yamaha R15 v3 comes with the sharp design assists in overall airflow, the slim twin-eye LED headlights offers efficient lighting even for night rides.
